Pimp your cylinders with these personal covers.

http://www.divemagazine.co.uk/kit-listing/129-other-kit/5970-scubacool-cyclinder-covers

While always making sure my cylinders are in test, cosmetically they could be described as leaving a lot to be desired.

Transporting them in and out of cars and vans, on and off boats, plus regular shore diving tends to leave its mark and while professional repainting may bring back that ‘as-new’ sheen, it remains an expensive option for what amounts to a temporary facelift.

DIY solutions may seem like the cheapest option but having been down that route myself it’s slightly disheartening when your new paint job gets scuffed the first time you attach your BCD.

While mesh or neoprene covers can forestall the inevitable, decals just end up a sticky mess, so wouldn’t it be great to be able to personalise your tank instead of having just one of an army of yellow look-alikes when collecting from your local dive centre?

Asking those same questions, newly-qualified diver Garedd Strange, founder of ScubaCool designs, realised that by using the same weatherproof PVC-type material commonly used in advertising banners he’d have the means to reproduce any design, logo or photograph.

But there was still the small matter of adhering the design to the cylinder. And this is where ScubaCool seems to have come up trumps – by using shrink-wrap!

So how does it work? Simply measure your cylinder, select a design of your choosing and email the details to Garedd and his team at ScubaCool and you’ll receive your personalised cover in the post a few days later.

Roll your design around the cylinder, slip over the transparent sleeve, and laying the tank on its side, evenly heat the sleeve with a standard hairdryer along its length.

Although it’s possible to affix the designs by yourself it does make life much easier with an extra pair of hands.

Using some recent DIVE cover designs, I attempted to hide a multitude of sins on a trio of my own battered 12l, 10l and 4l cylinders

After my first application I was dismayed when my cylinder’s rubber boot tore the sleeve during refitting (my own fault for not allowing a sufficient overlap), but each design comes with two sleeves in anticipation of such an event and I encountered no such problem with subsequent efforts.

After a handful of dives since fitting, the longevity of the shrink-wrap has yet to be determined, but the actual PVC material is practically indestructible so should the cover be removed for any reason – during cylinder testing for example – then it’s easy to fit a replacement. Neil Hope

ScubaCool is an innovative and revolutionary business which has thus far helped thousands of divers to customize their scuba diving cylinders with any images or graphics of their choice.

Are You Ready For A Dive?

Getting ready for a dive is an equally fascinating experience as the dive itself. Whether you are exploring the reefs in Down Under or exploring some underwater caves in the Hawaiian Islands, you should be completely geared up before even you think of a dive. You would find all information and instructions at any diving site or before you take the plunge from the boat but it is always wiser to know a fair bit in advance about the nitty-gritty.

Here are the things that you would need handy.

Starting with the simplest things first, you would need a wetsuit. Now, a wetsuit is not just the complete one piece suit you put on your body but it also includes a hood, gloves, boots and fins. All of these collectively form a wetsuit. There are several tools and accessories you are going to need on a dive and the extensive list, although of small items, includes a submersible pressure gauge, timer, depth gauge, compass or a wrist console that holds more than that, buoyancy compensator, backpack, weight belt, harness, gear bag, dry suit mitts and oxygen cylinders along with a well stocked first aid case.

There may be several other items of necessity depending on the type of dive and what kind of environment you are heading to and that list may include a scuba regulator, snorkels, special masks or anything that may be desired for the specific dive.

When you are ready with all the equipment and the gear, it is important to mark them so that people do not misplace their essentials. When heading for a dive, it is easy to not keep track of your belongings and someone else can mistake your mask for theirs or you could take away someone’s tank thinking of it as yours. Unless you have something on you all the time and there is no chance of getting them misplaced with someone else’s inventory, it is important to keep up a demarcation or using a certain way to identify your possessions.
Wetsuits cannot be misplaced since they are not always the same and you would have them on you. Gear are more or less of the same standard when people go on a dive but tanks can get misplaced. Using products such as ScubaCool, you can make sure your tank never gets misplaced or mixed up.

Where to Dive

For centuries, people wondered what it would be like if only man could go deep into the ocean and see amazing underwater sights. Today, divers are doing just that all over the world. Would-be divers have to take instruction and once they have received their certification all they need is their basic equipment and then they can decide where to dive – worldwide.

Scuba diving is popular throughout the world and the beauties of the underwater world are available to everyone. Scuba diving gear consists primarily of a wetsuit, fins and mask and of course, the breathing apparatus. There are various methods of breathing underwater but we are all familiar with the cylinder tanks that divers wear on their backs, which allow them to breathe underwater. Of course, it is important to buy such equipment from reputable companies and firms such as Scuba Cool.

The company, which is based in the United Kingdom, can supply everything the diver needs and the company slogan, “making diving more fun, says it all. This is because in addition to equipment, Scuba Cool also supplies a perfect fun-to-use product: tank covers. Now, it is not just a question of where to dive but also which one of Scuba Cool’s fabulous styles you will choose when you venture underwater. Scuba Cool is easily found on eBay, so it is a great idea to take a look at what they have to offer.

Scuba diving is not just a wonderful pastime, there are commercial applications, too, and many divers turn their hobby into a business or career. Custom tank covers are ideal for businesses to add that extra touch of branding to every diving expedition. Scuba Cool is adept at creating custom cylinder covers in addition to their standard range. This makes them ideal for scuba diving clubs and groups, too.

As ecological concerns grow, many divers are turning to rescue, preservation and environmental dive missions and these can be reflected in a custom design. Scuba Cool stresses that its products are environmentally friendly. Scuba covers are ideal for hiding tank wear and tear. After use, tanks can become scratched and the covers are a great way to make them look brand new. With the world at your fingertips you have so many choices of where to dive and Scuba Cool delivers worldwide. Wherever you are, make the most of “scuba cool” designs.

Tanks, regulators, wet suits, masks…the equipment can add up fast! Though with proper care and maintenance, they could last years. Defective equipment can also cause severe injuries or even death. Since diving gear is so expensive, you will want to take certain steps before and after each scuba dive to make sure your safety.

Salt water in particular can wreck scuba gear. It has very corrosive properties. When the water evaporates the salt crystals are left. These crystals can build up causing rips and tears in your gear as well as affect the flow in your breathing apparatus. Always rinse all gear with fresh water once completing a scuba dive to prevent this.

Wet suits should be washed in a tub or bucket filled with fresh water and detergent. This will remove all skin oils and debris. You may even add a desalinization solution. Never dry in a dryer! When hanging up to dry, inspect the suit for any rips, tears, or weak spots. Some dive shops offer repair services.

Regulator sets can be very finicky. Always rinse with plenty of fresh running water to remove all debris and residues. If anything builds up in the regulator, it could create compromised oxygen flow or the regulator to run constantly. Neither would result good. Rinse and inspect the hoses as well.

Buoyancy compensators’ need to be flushed immediately after diving. They will keep water and this water must escape. To do so, disconnect it and connecting lines, turn over, and press the deflation button. Once deflated rinse well. If salt builds up in here, it could puncture the bladder.

Oxygen tanks can have catastrophic failures if not maintained well. After the dive they need to be rinsed thoroughly and looked over for any scratches , dings, and pitting. Once the structural integrity of the tank has been compromised, the oxygen tank is junk. After all, it needs to be able to contain pressurized air. Always store your tank in an upright position.

After your equipment has been rinsed and dried, you will need to store it in a cool dry place. Do not leave in sunlight for long periods of time. Doing so may cause warping and cracking in your scuba diving gear. Direct sunlight can also fade the colors in your suit, mask and fins.

If you keep your gear clean and only use safe accessories that don’t affect the integrity and safety of your gear ( like those found at www.scubacool.co.uk) , you will be able to thoroughly enjoy your scuba dive.

Benefits Of Customized Tank Wraps/Covers For Diving

Diving is a passion for innumerable people in the world. While diving is still considered to be a popular tourist activity in the group of water sports and adventures but it is indeed more than just an activity or a hobby for most. Those who take diving as one of the things they cannot do without would find a lot of utilities and benefits of customized tank covers.

Customized tank covers come in various forms. There are those mesh nets, paints, neoprene covers or stickers and then there is covers as the ScubaCool. Now, you may wish to try your hands on paints or stickers but they would soon disappoint you but if you opt for products such as the ScubaCool then you would not only reap the benefits of the best tank covers but also make a style statement.

Being Unique

If you have dived for a while then you would know that tanks are perhaps the only un-cool things among the diving equipment. The same old boring yellow colors or the white tanks can often look very mundane. Customized tank covers that allow you to have any design you wish to would make your tank look stylish, unique and interesting. But cosmetic benefits aren’t the only ones of tank wraps or covers.

In diving, misplacing tanks is a huge possibility. While it may not seem to be a huge trouble if all tanks are of the same color and nature but it does make a difference when you have a certain level of air in your tank and that gets replaced with one which has much less to offer. Customized tank covers would always avert a scenario where you would mix up your tank or find it troubling to pick yours among a score of other tanks.

Protective Care

Tanks are robustly built but they are also the most prone to wear and tear. Owing to the nature of their construction and the extent of their use including refilling and easy carefree handling, the surfaces of the tanks can suffer wear and tear. They quickly lose the sheen and hardly look appealing after a few diving events. Customized tank covers like the ScubaCool can act as a protective layering on the tanks thus saving it from scratches or hard stains and from any kind of cosmetic wear and tear.

ScubaCool Is A Must Have For Your Diving Cylinder

Misplacing your diving equipment, especially the cylinder is extremely common. There are too many white tanks, yellow ones and black ones at the diving sites and the likelihood of someone mistaking your cylinder to be his or hers is immense. No passionate diver would wish to get their diving equipment mixed up, whether at the site, on the boat or at the refilling store. The only way to make sure that this doesn’t happen is you would need an innovative way to distinguish your diving cylinder from the rest.

Following meticulous analyses of many materials and methods that are normally used to personalize diving equipment, ScubaCool certainly stands out with its unique approach. More than the customization benefit, it is the style and coolness that impresses. ScubaCool is a PVC based sheet which bears a design of your choice, it is weather proof, waterproof and resistive to dust, wear and tear and you can install it yourself. You may find resonance of the ScubaCool with advertisement hoardings or banners.

The unique element of the ScubaCool is that you can have any design you can possibly think of. The company, Scuba Cool Ltd has its own range of designs which is at your disposal or you can create your own design, email it to them and get the product delivered at your doorstep in a few days. The designs could be anything. They can be images or pictures, simple messages, large icons or a detailed painting. The installation is a simple process and you can attend to it alone or get a friend or family member to help you, just to make it even easier.

ScubaCool does away with all the shortcomings that other materials and methods have. Whether you look at mesh nets, neoprene covers, paint or stickers, they all have their fair share of problems. Mesh nets are not robust and an unwise investment, neoprene covers slip out and do not look enticing at all, paint is clearly not a solution since spending close to a hundred pounds and then watching it wash off in one dive is clearly not desirable and stickers can actually do more damage to the surface of the cylinder than good.

From a holistic perspective, ScubaCool is certainly a cool way to customize your cylinder without any sticky feels, fear of having it washed off or any wearing off in one dive, a worthwhile investment and an easy solution for your diving equipment.

Dive shop

If you want to learn how to scuba dive the first step would be to visit your local dive shop. The employees will be able to help you find the gear you need, let you try them on and answer any questions you may have. Many shops also have their own scuba diving classes. Although there are many brands and products to choose from, each diver will need the same basic gear.

Mask, breathing apparatus, fins and a wet suit are a must and all can be purchased at a dive shop! Masks are essential because they cover your nose and eyes to prevent them from being exposed to the water and debris. A mask should fit comfortably to your face while still remaining water tight. Leaking will ruin a dive very quickly. Without one you won’t be able to see the natural beauty underneath the water’s surface.

Fins are very helpful to maneuver around the water. They can be made of rigid or flexible plastic and are made for both hot and cold temperatures. And whatever you do…do not go into the shop asking for “flippers” !

Wet suits help to keep your body warm when diving into colder waters and work to keep your skin safe. Suits help prevent cuts and scratches from coral and other things as well as keeping your skin from absorbing so much water. They come in different styles and thicknesses depending on which terrain and temperatures you plan on exploring.

Whether you want a snorkel or an oxygen tank, you will need a breathing apparatus. Snorkels are fine in shallow waters where your head will be close to the water’s surface. However, by using a tank you will be able to have much more freedom as far as water depth and distance from the boat. Though there are many brands of tanks, they all have a similar build and design.

Other divers like to bring along other accessories. Such as knives, save-a-dive kits, and gloves. Knives or other cutting tools can be used when you are snagged on something and need to be cut free. Gloves are a great way to protect a diver’s hands from being damaged. Once you have visited your local dive shop and have completed your scuba diving lessons, you will be ready to hop in and enjoy natures wonders under the water.

The planet is covered with over seventy percent water. There are seven oceans on Earth, and each one holds many things of both beauty and wonder. Anyone who is involved in the world of scuba diving can tell you scuba diving is unlike anything else you will ever experience. With a single splash, you enter whole new realm that is not open to just anyone.

Underwater exploration is something that is easy to do as long as you have the right equipment. However, there are ways to make scuba diving even more fun. By having a personalized tank, the boring can become beautiful. Here is more information on the benefits of getting a customized scuba tank to really put the splash in underwater exploration.

Identifying your scuba tank: Sometimes people get together to go scuba diving in a large group. One scuba tank can pretty much look like another, and you do not want someone taking your tank by mistake. By having a customized tank, you will never have to worry about anyone else getting your tank. Turn that boring and dull colored scuba tank into something both colorful and beautiful.

Advertising for your own company: Are you a business man? Are you looking for a unique way to do a little self-promotion? By having a scuba tank that you designed yourself, you can use it as a platform to let people know all about your business. Your company logo affixed onto a scuba tank can get the attention of anyone that sees it. You can include your logo plus your website address, which will bring people right to your webpage. With a customized scuba tank with your business logo, you can have an inexpensive, but special way to get more customers!

Scuba diving is an activity that many people do to relax and to also get in touch with the world that exists within any of the oceans of the world. In order to dive, you need special equipment including a tank. However, you do not need to dive with an unsightly tank when you can get a beautiful custom tank with anything you want on it as a way to keep it from getting taken by mistake, a way to express yourself, and free advertising if you happen to run your own business.
